Surface is ground to a 100 Ra finish or better. (This is not a precision or fine finish). The thickness of the sheets are still 5-10% oversized to allow a defect free finish. They will be decarb free. Saw cut strips are cut on a bandsaw. The resulting strips are straight and flat and there is no edge burr. This method of cutting is slow and more expensive.
